Hola, me llamo Maria Elena Navedo.

I’m a 2nd year medical student and current co-president of LMSA. I was born in New York City from mixed parents: my father is from Arecibo, Puerto Rico and my mother is also a US citizen but was born and raised in Japan. It was through their struggles and grit that they were able to provide for my brothers and I. My parents and grandparents have always advocated strongly for education as a way to ultimately give back to the community. Because of this I am extremely passionate about education, mentorship, and service. I am very humbled and honored to be able to serve as Co-President of LMSA para poner mi granito de arena. DUTIES as Co-President

• Plan for monthly meetings

• Seek out, design, plan opportunities for the organization including mentorship, scholarship, volunteering, etc. 

• Represent the LMSA organization professionally both internally and externally

• Support other LMSA e-board members in their initiatives

• Report to LMSA Northeast about the activities and actions of our club and complete requirements necessary to maintain active status
