The purpose of UConn LMSA is to address the health needs of the Latino community, as well as to promote the interests and support of those students who
identify themselves as Latino students of University of Connecticut School of Medicine through social, cultural, educational, political and other activities.

In the five years that have passed since UConn created its first LMSA chapter, we have been able to create a strong presence at our school by educating our
peers (and ourselves) on Latino health issues, engaging with the community, and creating leaders and advocates.

LMSA also collaborates with other UConn organizations, such as SNMA, the
UConn Immigration Rights Initiative, Migrant Farm Workers Clinic, and the AMA.
