Hola, my name is Kelly and I am the Co-President of LMSA.

I joined LMSA as an M1 because I care about the Latinx community in my home state of Connecticut. Being half Puerto Rican has granted me a taste of the rich culture of the island, but has also enabled me to see the hardships some of my Spanish-speaking family members have endured in a predominantly English-speaking country. LMSA seeks to serve and create positive change for the well-being of this community and create a space for Latinx voices to be heard. One of my favorite things about LMSA is not only being able to serve this mission, but to learn about different cultures within the diverse Latinx community—and having many opportunities to learn more Spanish!
